The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has started the CA Intermediate Registration 2026 for the January exam session. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can now register online through the official ICAI portal at eservices.icai.org.
The registration window for the CA Intermediate Jan 2026 exam will remain open until May 1, 2025. Applicants must understand the complete registration process, eligibility requirements, fee details, and critical deadlines to ensure a smooth application.

According to the revised CA exam cycle, students must register at least eight months before the exam month. For the January 2026 attempt, only those registered on or before September 1, 2024, are eligible.

Tip: Complete your registration well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues. Remember, registration alone does not make you eligible for the exam. You’ll also need to fill out the CA Intermediate Exam Form 2026 once released by ICAI.

No upper age limit for registration.
Must have cleared the CA Foundation exam, or completed graduation/postgraduation from a recognized university.
Final-year students can register provisionally.
ICAI offers two routes for candidates from different academic backgrounds.
For students who have passed the CA Foundation exam.
No requirement for a graduation or postgraduation degree.
For graduates/postgraduates or final-year students.
Direct eligibility for Intermediate registration without the CA Foundation.

Direct Entry candidates must register for both groups.
Foundation Route candidates can opt for either one or both.
Submit the following documents to your ICAI regional office within seven (7) days of online registration:
Attested copy of Class 12 mark sheet (for Foundation route).
Attested copy of Graduation/Postgraduation mark sheet or ICSI/ICMAI Intermediate certificate (for Direct Entry route).
Passport-size colour photograph.
Attested proof of nationality (for foreign students).
Attested category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/Differently Abled, if applicable).

Step 3: Fill in your personal and academic details
Step 4: Generate and verify the OTP sent to your email/mobile
Step 5: Upload required documents and pay the registration fee
Step 6: Download and print your registration acknowledgement receipt
The CA Intermediate registration is valid for five years. After expiration, candidates can revalidate it for another five years by paying a ₹400 revalidation fee.
Once registered, candidates become members of the ICAI Board of Studies (BoS). They must complete an 8-month study period before being eligible for the January, May, or September 2026 exams.
